Man Who Saved London
Colonel Michel Hollard played a crucial role in saving London from destruction. In 1943, he discovered plans for V1 rocket launch ramps aimed at England. Hollard identified over one hundred of these ramps being constructed along the Normandy coast. He also provided the British authorities with vital details about the V1 weapons stored in a railway shed at Auffay Station by the enemy.
As a key member of the French resistance, Hollard founded the espionage group Réseau AGIR, which played a pivotal role in gathering intelligence during World War II.
