This book is the biography of the legendary Pilot Douglas Bader, DSO, DFC.

The book follows the path of Douglas Bader from his early school days to becoming a Second World war fighter ace. Including vivid descriptions of the fierce air to air combat and the crash that took both of his legs.

He credited with around 30 victories over the Luftwaffe and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (DSO) and the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) for "an act or acts of valour, courage or devotion to duty whilst flying in active operations against the enemy"
